Corrections & appeals

Our methodology is public and versioned — and if a product's data is wrong, we want to fix it.

How a score is produced

Every score on this site is calculated by a fixed, published formula from the numbers printed on the product’s own label — the same formula for every brand, every time. We photograph the physical label in a Qatar store, transcribe the nutrition panel and ingredient list, a member of our team verifies the transcription, and the formula produces the score. Each product page shows the methodology version that produced its score and the date it was last verified. The label photographs are retained as verification evidence.

If you believe a value or a score is wrong

Anyone can flag an error using the “Report an error” button on every product page. Manufacturers, importers and distributors can additionally use the form below (or write to contact@lunchboxqatar.com), identifying the product barcode and the disputed value.

What we commit to

  • We re-check the stored label photographs against the recorded values.
  • If we made a transcription error, we correct it and re-publish the corrected score as soon as it is confirmed.
  • If the product has been reformulated, we re-photograph the current label, re-score it under the current methodology version, and update the public “Last verified” date.
  • We reply to the contact email you provide with the outcome.

Disagreements with the methodology itself (rather than a product’s data) are assessed against the international standards our thresholds are anchored to — the WHO sugars guideline (2015), the WHO Eastern-Mediterranean nutrient profile model (2017), the American Heart Association and American Academy of Pediatrics guidance for children, Singapore’s Nutri-Grade beverage system and the Nutri-Score 2023/2024 algorithms. Accepted challenges produce a new, numbered methodology version — never a silent change. See How we score.

The LBQ score is an educational shelf-comparison guide for parents calculated from the manufacturer’s own label. It is not medical or dietary advice, and it is not a safety assessment of any product or brand.
